This one-off shift knob was crafted with a souvenir hat or lapel pin acquired at Daytona International Speedway at the 2001 Pepsi 400 in Daytona Beach, where Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Waltrip finished 1-2. This was the first NASCAR race at Daytona since Dale Earnhardt Sr. lost his life in the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18, 2001. Two pins were acquired that day — one will stay with me forever, the other is embedded in this shift knob.
The shift knob is 2 1/2" in diameter.
Please Note: This is a handmade, bespoke shift knob. It is made from molded epoxy resin and a recycled, repurposed, or reused item. It is turned on a lathe and cut manually for trueness. Each knob is sanded and polished by hand. Expect (very) minor flaws which can appear in the embedded item, the surface of the knob, or elsewhere.
